Hollywood – On One (Prod. by Rad Productions & Dir. by Doc Dolla)

“In Santa Rosa at the DoubleTree. I’ma tell you right now, I need a triple fee” – @GodHolly

I will forever check for Richmond’s Hollywood based off his involvement with the much vaunted NOBFE series:

Philthy Rich & Poof Hefner feat Hollywood and D Mac – Get Ya Money Up (2012, AOB Ent. / LiveWire Records)

Also, Welcome Home to D Mac.

D Mac from the Rich/ The AOB Ent., that is.

From, “Fetti Mac – Expensive Taste” (2016, NOBFE Records)

Video is a celebration.

Though I’m cool with Philthy Rich’s current Zaytoven-backed dope-boy sound, it’s time to pull The Avengers back together for another NOBFE record. Pooh Hef, Fetti, Burgandy, Preddy Boy, Diggler, Hitman, etc etc.

Glorious. All parties involved should be proud of this one, AK47 included.

Special shout out to Spokane Washington’s Certified with the cameo. If you’re unfamiliar with the Certified Outfit, you might check out “Grease” (2007) and “The Underworld” (2008) (the latter of which still makes it’s way into heavy rotation 8 years later).

From, “Pooh Hefner, Brill 4 The Thrill, Playa Red – R.P.G.O.” (AOB Ent., 2016)

  • It’s always a treat when real players meet
  • Real P.G.O. for 2016
  • The entire project continues in similar form (15 cuts), however, there are absolutely no producer credits. Someone let me know who did what. [UPDATE] Production was handled by Traxx FDR and M.A. Da Pilot. Stream now available on Soundcloud.

  • Brill dropped off a quick slice of game last month; 4 tracks all produced by Richmond California great, Traxx FDR.
  • Yeah, the whole EP sounds like this.
  • I consider this a brief warm-up before the release of, “Pooh Hefner, Brill 4 The Thrill, Playa Red – R.P.G.O.” later this month, June 24th, 2016.
  • Marin City and Real Richmond, Real Pimpin’ Goin’ On.

Sauce Walka feat Philthy Rich – Like Nothing (Directed by Alger Johnson)

Sauce Walka feat Philthy Rich - Like Nothing - Alger Johnson - VHUW

From, “Sauce Walka – Holy Sauce” (2016, The Sauce Familia)

  • Outstanding work here (both song & video)
  • There was once talk about a Sauce Twinz & Philthy Rich collaboration album (“Turn Around & See What You Turnin’ Down“), however with ephemeral nature of proposed indie rap releases, that may never come to fruition. I think fans would do just as well to have those recorded tracks distributed among upcoming releases or as periodic singles anyway.
  • On the other hand, there were also rumblings of a Philthy Rich & Mozzy collaboration album (“Political Ties“). For that project, as opposed to a compilation of recycled material (a la, Philthy & Joe Blow – MobWire), I would wish for an actual work in which Philthy snatches Mozzy and puts him on different production (outside of JuneOnnaBeat) with various guests to compliment the engagement. All other instances of this tactic have resulted in skilled mayhem and I’m going to need more of that before the year is out.¹

Ice Burgandy – Real Nigga, Fake Rapper

Say it Twice (@IceBurgandyBSM)
Say it Twice (@IceBurgandyBSM) Screenshot from Ep. 9 of webseries, “Day In The Yung”

Brick Squad Monopoly affiliate, NOBFE affiliate, and now Skrapp Or Die C.E.O., Ice Burgandy has been working on his, “Real Nigga, Fake Rapper” project since 2014. I’ve pulled together a 14-track playlist as a refresher until RNFR Vol. 1 materializes.

Credit to the boy Burgandy for producing another superlative album title on level with 2012’s, “Progress Involves Risk Unfortunately”

Don’t care if it was released 4 years ago, Role Model should still receive a music video. I would settle for concert footage cut w/ tour bus performance footage.

The above screenshot is from Ep. 9 of webseries, “Day in The Yung” in which a young Sean Mackk scolds a band of Brick Squad Monopoly members for having made multiple court appearances, yet still being at a loss in knowing how to properly tie their ties, making the entire crew late for a scheduled club appearance later that evening (in which two scantily-clad women duke it out in an unsanctioned boxing exhibition for @KristianiNicole’s birthday party).

Tracklist and credits on the next page.

“She get hers from a trick, I get mines from her” – Pooh Hefner
  • Note, the album production vs video version of, “Turn Her Out” are different beats. TraxxFDR laced the production for both; however, the video version is far superior to what landed on the album for official release.

Also,

Hyph Feat Pooh Hefner – P Hours (Prod. by Hitman Beatz & Directed by BAMLV)

  • Including this not only because it’s a dope record but because Richmond’s Hyph (@hyph_) let it slip via Instagram a few weeks ago that the NOBFE collective is currently at work on #NOBFE Vol. 4.
  • Philthy Rich & Pooh Hefner’s NOBFE clique is easily most entertaining crew out since Members of Byrdgang (R.I.P. Stack Bundles, Free Max BiGGaVeli and all that)
  • Various cuts from NOBFE Vol.1, Vol.2, & Vol.3 are still in heavy rotation through the loudspeakers at Café del Rey

@2RealistCM, @Litsoxx702, King Vay – They brought extra.

I wouldn’t consider murder-raps 2Realist’s main dish but paired with Lit Soxx, they’ve delivered what is likely a career benchmark on this one. Never satisfied, I would love if this gained momentum and garnered a remix with other Las Vegas alum (Westtsew, Yowda, ThaLandlord, etc.). Northern California recruits Mozzy, Philthy Rich, and Lil Blood would sound at home here, as well (though your man Mozzy is absolutely ubiquitous at the moment).

Those outside the region (like myself) probably remember the young dude Lit Soxx from Philthy Rich & Pooh Hefner’s, NOBFE Vol. 3 on the track “I Deserve It.” (“Got moms off that wet, she deserve that”)

Earlier material had a hurried flow that veered into Meek Mill-ish territory. Recent verses, however, have the West Vegas representative exacting his flow and lining up to release undoubtedly breakout material for himself in 2016.
